Commonly asked questions about Invisalign

What can you eat with Invisalign?

Invisalign’s great thing is that you can eat pretty much anything you want. You don’t have the same constraints that you would have on your eating habits if you had conventional braces. The one thing to keep in mind when eating your favorite foods is that the Invisalign tray should be removed before the meal starts. Also, be certain to clean out your trays before putting them back in your mouth after your meal in order to maintain good oral hygiene during your care.

Can I drink cold or hot drinks while wearing my Invisalign retainers?

It is not recommended to drink overly sugar and alcoholic beverages when wearing the aligners, as they can lead to plaque buildup in the trays that will lead to more oral problems later in life. Also, it is best to stay away from hot drinks such as coffee to preserve the initial quality of the aligners since you might run the risk of stains and discolorment. Drinking cold water when wearing the Invisalign retainers is the only exception to this rule

Can I chew gum with Invisalign?

Just like conventional braces, when wearing your Invisalign retainers, you should not chew gum. But, you can remove the retainers and chew gum.
