As Much as 15% of People Routinely Avoid Dental Appointments Out of Fear and Anxiety
For many patients, even the thought of walking into a dental office for a routine cleaning can be a source of intense stress and anxiety. The sound of the dental drill, the smells and fear of the unknown are all common sources of anxiety that keep patients from getting the care they need. From simple routine cleanings to complex cases like full arch dental implants, from the moment you walk through our door we can help you relax with our warm, gentle atmosphere and sedation dentistry options.
Different Levels of Dental Sedation for Every Patient Need
As every patient experiences a different level of anxiety, for different reasons, Dr. Jeremy Wehrman offers multiple sedation options to meet your unique needs:
Oral sedation is a small pill that is taken about an hour prior to your appointment. Once the medication takes effect, it helps you relax in a euphoric state before and during your treatment. We ask that you have a companion bring you to and from your appointment for your safety.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Otherwise known as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is an ideal option for a deeper level of sedation. We will have control over your level of sedation, so you can remain conscious to communicate with Dr. Wehrman while feeling calm and relaxed.
Used as an alternative to local anesthetic injections, electronic anesthesia uses two sponges, placed on the mouth or face, that are attached to a control box that the patient uses to control their own level of anesthesia. This option eliminates the need for a needle injection.
Leave Your Stress and Anxiety at the Door
From soothing sounds and a television in every room to sedation dentistry, Dr. Wehrman has gone above and beyond to keep you as comfortable as possible during your time with us.
