What happens during my first visit to Smile Solutions?
On your first visit to Smile Solutions, you can expect to receive a comprehensive dental exam. This includes assessing the condition of your entire mouth including your teeth, gums and the bones around your teeth. At Smile Solutions, it is our goal is to help each patient achieve and maintain the best possible dental health. This is why we design our new patient exams to provide effective treatment options for each individual.
Health History
Before your exam, you must fill out a detailed health history form, this includes all medications you are currently taking; please bring a list with you. Health history forms can be printed from this website.
Digital X-rays
During each new patient visit, a full set of digital x-rays are taken. X-rays can diagnose problems otherwise unnoticed, such as damage to jawbones, impacted teeth, abscesses, cysts or tumors, and decay between teeth. A digital Panoramic X-ray provides a complete view of your upper and lower jaw in a single picture. Panoramic X-rays show your bite and the relationship between the different teeth and your arch.
Digital Photos
A complete set of digital photos are taken, including up-close photos of your smile and the inside of your mouth. These photos help you see inside your mouth and better understand the treatment we recommend. A copy of these photos is sent home with you to refer back to at any time.
A Full Examination
Dr. Wehrman performs a complete examination of your teeth, gums and mouth, looking for signs of disease, including cancer. He also performs a periodontal screening, which includes looking at the gums and bones around your teeth.
Consultation
Once your comprehensive exam is complete, we meet with you in our consultation room to discuss treatment options. Dr. Wehrmam reviews your digital x-rays and photos; recommending treatment options if needed. If you are interested in changing the appearance of your teeth, Dr. Wehrman also presents you with cosmetic treatment options.
Our treatment plan can help you maintain healthy teeth and gums for many years to come. Our goal is to prevent problems from becoming serious, by identifying and treating them as soon as possible.
How Long Should I Go Between Visits?
We determine how often each person should have their cleanings at your first appointment. If other treatment is required, such as to fill a cavity, remove a tooth, or repair a broken crown, you should make an appointment before leaving the office.

Smile Solutions accepts all insurances. As a service to you, we can file your insurance claims for you.
